Here you will always find both sides of the flower story- the earth, dirt, and seasonality of growing flowers, and the intricate, elevated, artistry of custom designed blooms in their final form.

The Farm

Our backyard micro flower farm in Millersville, PA is where we grow quality flowers in an array of colors. We focus on growing unique varieties that are ideal for floral arranging. You can experience the joy of picking and arranging straight from the garden bounty at one of our farm to vase workshop experiences on location in the gardens. We also pop up at markets and local businesses with seasonal flower bouquets throughout the growing season.

The Flowers

When sourcing flowers for design work, sustainability and quality is our priority. We believe local blooms are the best ingredients for fresh, lasting floral designs that reflect the season and the region wherein we find ourselves. For design work, we source flowers from our own farm first and then from local growers in our region in order to reduce our footprint and support our local economy.

The Florist

Our design style marries the organic, free flowing feel of flowers growing in their natural form with skillful placement and purposeful color palettes. We relish in the joy of bringing life and color to the vision you have in mind for your space or event. We hope to bring flowers to your celebrations in a truly memorable and magical way.

The Farmer Florist

Rachel has been playing with flowers since she was a little kid with a big backyard, and creating with a variety of mediums for just as long. In 2015, she got her best job learning cut flower farming and professional floral design under a respected farmer florist. She fell in love with the juxtaposition of the hard work, mess, and grind of farming, and the elegance and effortless nature of designing with flowers. Never being able to decide which she loved more, she knew she needed both in her own life and business.
First Light Flower Co. was born out of the joy that Rachel finds in cultivating beauty, the connection she feels with the earth and seasons, and the satisfying nature of sharing what she loves with others. She comes from a heritage of Lancaster County farming families and hopes to continue that legacy with her own flavor of flower farming. Rachel’s floral designs are an expression of her technical training, artistic eye, and creative impulse. She is excited to build beauty over and over again and passionately share it with her community.
